Please note:

  • this log is a living document that should be populated with new courses as and when appropriate
  • It should also be monitored and kept up-to-date by the respective organisations of the LEAD consortium.
  • In order to demonstrate the required level of knowledge and expertise for their roles, Retrofit Advisors will need to meet the pre-requisites in accordance with either of the 3 separate pathways below:
      1. Minimum Requirements (mandatory):
        • City and Guilds Level 3 in Energy Awareness
        • Energy Efficiency for Older and Traditional Buildings Level 3 Award
        • new Retrofit Advisors are expected to shadow experienced advisors for a minimum number of visits.
        • existing Retrofit Advisors must keep their knowledge current through CPD (workshops, new courses, etc…) to be logged in the Training Matrix.
      2. Direct route:
        • Level 3 Certificate for Retrofit Advisors as and when this course becomes available.
      3. Nice to have:
        • there seems to be a consensus amongst RAds that the Level 3 Domestic Energy Assessment (DEA)  training would be very valuable.
        • In a similar vein, Level 4 Domestic Retrofit Assessment and Level 5 in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management should also more than adequately provide a good level of knowledge.
