Proving competence
This guidance document should be followed in relation to every type of work and every trade and service offered by each organisation in the Consortium. This should be in addition to compliance with any relevant technical and professional standards .
Below is an example checklist for knowing your staff and sub-contractors are doing a good job:
-
Do they understand what their role involves?
-
Are they experienced?
-
Do they have the right skills and know-how?
-
How up to date is their knowledge?
-
What about new people you might take on?
-
Have you seen their previous work?
-
Have you checked their qualifications or training?
-
Do you keep all this information safely on file?
We are envisaging proving competence primarily through the skills and knowledge of the people in our teams.
See the Training Matrix for Retrofit Advisors in Appendix x (Didier to insert)
Who is covering the other roles or are we assuming PAS2035 definitions for qualifications required

Managing sub-contractors – Phase 2 primarily
As a LEAD partner, you are responsible for the sub-contractors that you employ to complete works and must ensure they meet all the same competency skills and requirements as your staff.
[What are the implications here in terms of liability for the LEAD partner and the sub-contractors? What might be the various relationships? Who is able to help us answer this?]
